I know many of us have encountered challenges with encryption software, especially when it comes to making documents available to learners. Fortunately, you can create documents, presentations, and more on your desktop computer, and easily access them in the classroom - and you can do so without worrying about encryption. As employees of Bow Valley College, we all have a MyBVC account, which allows you to use Google Docs. With Google Docs, you have access to a word processor, and much more. Just click on what you want to create:
The word processor is similar to Word, and the presentation software is similar to PowerPoint. But what about all my existing documents? Am I going to have to recreate them? No! If you have Word docs or PowerPoint presentations that you want to use in the classroom, you can simply upload them to Google Drive and access them from any computer that is connected to the internet. This article has some other valuable tips and tricks.
Unsure about your MyBVC account? Contact the help desk to set-up your password, and feel free to email me if you have any questions about getting started with Google Docs: jtzanakos@bowvalleycollege.ca
