“For over 40 years now, UNESCO has been celebrating International Literacy Day by reminding the international community that literacy is a human right and the foundation of all learning.” UNESCO
Bow Valley College and the Calgary Public Library invite you to join us at the John Dutton Theatre for networking and a celebration on September 8, 2014.
Stories from the Field is a Bow Valley College project that took a journalistic approach to professional development for adult literacy and essential skills practitioners across the province. The two publications, a book and a magazine, explore innovations, challenges and diversity across a variety of community and college settings.
The evening program will be a panel discussion which will introduce you to a selection of practitioners and their work profiled in the Stories from the Field publications.
Copies of Stories from Field: Professional Development for Literacy Practitioners will be available.
There will be light refreshments following the discussion.
